On The Subject of Kids and Birthdays

We are snuggling in bed this morning, and my daughter turns to me and says, "Mom I missed his birthday and I wanted to make him a card." I reassure her that it is still okay to make one now and give it to him tonight when he comes over, he will still enjoy it.

She gets quiet.

Then she says, "I would like it to say: Happy Birthday. You are fun and my Mom's favorite boy of any boy, and you make us happy. Your friend, [her]".

I couldn't have said it better myself.
